Who is Half Pint?
I’m Laura Kluczenko, the owner and designer of Half Pint Web Design. I’m originally from the Chicago suburbs and I moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 2010. I’ve enjoyed snow-free winters ever since, which is something I’ve dreamed of my whole life! Long before my desert-dwelling days, I attended college at Northern Illinois University where I obtained my core design skills, many life experiences and my degree in Visual Communications (a.k.a. Graphic Design). Corporate life followed and the internet exploded. My first job had me doing in-house design at a life insurance company. I learned HTML and before I knew it, I was designing for the web. I then took a new job, another in-house design position, at a life insurance software company. My knowledge and experience continued to expand by learning CSS, user interface design, icon design, and responsive web design. Time has flown by and when I count my years of experience, it adds up to over 20 years! Now, I’m continuing my journey by helping small businesses with my expertise in branding and website design with Half Pint. I only stand at 5 feet 2 inches and that usually makes me the shortest person among friends and family, so a friend started calling me ‘half pint’. Even though I’m short, I’m strong and dedicated. So, when I decided to start on this business adventure, naturally, Half Pint was the perfect choice…original, personal, unique and fun.
